หลักการเขียน - อ่าน ตัวเลขเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ

การนับหลักสิบ (1 – 99)

21  = 20+1 >>> twenty + one = twenty-one

32 = 30 +2 >>> thirty + two = thirty-two

44 = 40 + 4 >>> forty+four = forty-four

68 = 60+ 8 >>> sixty+eight = sixty-eight

97 = 90+7 >>> ninety+seven = ninety-seven

ที่เหลือก็ทำคล้ายกันครับ ไม่ยาก สังเกตนิดหนึ่งนะครับว่าหลักสิบกับหลักหน่วยมีเส้นขีดคั่นกลาง

การนับหลักร้อย (100 – 999)

153 =100+50+3 >>> one + hundred+fifty+three =   one hundred and fifty three

576 = 500+70+6 >>> five+hundred+seventy+six =   five hundred and seventy-six

880 = 800+80 >>> eight + hundred+eighty =   eight hundred and eighty

905 = 900+5 >>> nine + hundred+five =   nine hundred and five

การนับหลักพัน (1000 – 9999)

3,234  = 3000 +200+30+4   =   three  thousand two hundred and thirty-four

7,302  = 7000+300+2 = seven thousand three hundred and two

5,045  = 5000+40+5 =  five thousand and forty-five

การนับหลักหมื่น (10000 – 99999)

เนื่องจากว่าคำว่า หมื่น ในภาษาอังกฤษไม่มี แล้วจะนับกันอย่างไรล่ะ คำตอบคือเขานับหลักพันนั่นแหละว่ามันมี กี่สิบพัน เช่น

10,000 = สิบพัน  >> ten thousand

50,000 = ห้าสิบพัน >> fifty thousand

73,000 = เจ็ดสิบสามพัน >> seventy-three thousand

40,320 = 40 พัน+300+20 >>> forty thousand three hundred and twenty

64,327 = 64 พัน+300+20+7 >>>   sixty-four thousand three hundred and twenty-seven

98,028 = 98 พัน + 20 +8 >>> ninety-eight thousand and twenty-eight

การนับหลักแสน (100,000 – 999,999)

คำว่า แสน ก็ไม่มีในภาษาอังกฤษอีกแล้ว เขาก็นับหลักพันอีกนั่นแหละว่ามี

กีร้อยพัน เช่น

200,000 = สองร้อยพัน >> two hundred thousand

620,000 = หกร้อยยี่สิบพัน >> sixty-two hundred thousand

854,000 = แปดร้อยห้าสิบสี่พัน >> eight hundred and fifty-four thousand

456,321  = 456 พัน+300+20+1 >>> four hundred and fifty-six thousand three hundred and twenty-one

876,530 = 876 พัน + 500 >>> eight hundred and seventy-six thousand five hundred and thirty

การนับหลักล้าน (1,000,000 – 9,999,999)

คำว่า ล้าน มีในภาษาอังกฤษอยู่แล้ว ก็เอาไปนับได้เลยว่ามีกี่ล้าน ส่วนหลักอื่นๆก็ได้เรียนรู้มาหมดแล้วนะครับ

1,234,567  = one million two hundred and thirty-four thousand five hundred and sixty-seven

5,800,345 = five million eight hundred thousand three hundred and forty-five
